In order to facilitate research and the future development of
personnel, Chief Executive Officer at the National Works Agency (NWA), Patrick
Wong, recently signed a contract for the development of a Project Resource
Management System for the NWA. The system will be implemented on the Oracle
People Soft Platform, and will provide the Agency with the capacity to optimally
manage its human capital. Illuminat Jamaica Limited was selected to implement
the Project Resources
Management System (PRMS) for the National Works Agency
at a cost of J$12.9 million.
The project is being
jointly funded by the
Inter-American Development Bank and the China Harbour Engineering
Company. Implementation is slated to begin in September and will continue for a
period of five months.
For efficient
workforce management, the NWA,
which is essentially a
project management agency, will use this tool to deploy staff
across its portfolio of projects. The application will be accessible over the
Agency’s Intranet, and will allow office and field staff though a ‘Self Service Portal’,
to access information on their employment and current work assignments.
Over time, the Agency could add other products in the People Soft
Application Suite to create a seamless Enterprise Management System
