| MEXICAN AMBASSADOR CALLS ON HM

Mexican Ambassador, Mrs. Leonora Rueda, paid a courtesy call on Hon. L. Michael Henry, Minister of Transport and Works, on Friday, October 5, 2007.
The Ambassador congratulated the Minister on his appointment and pledged her support for his portfolio responsibilities. He, for his part, thanked her for her visit and used the opportunity to discuss several areas of co-operation between the two countries.
Among the matters discussed were, the Air Services Agreement, as well as cultural and tourism possibilities between the two countries. In particular, Ambassador Rueda said that she was 'looking forward to the day when there would be a direct flight between Jamaica and Mexico.' Minister Henry said he too was interested in such a development and pledged his support to see if Air Jamaica could take up such an opportunity, were it to come to fruition.
