GETS JATAD AWARD

The
Jamaica Association for Training and Development (JATAD) on Thursday
July 7, 2005 celebrated a quarter century of achievement under the
theme “Energizing Regional Prosperity - High Morale, Productivity
and Quality” at a ceremony at the Knutsford Court Hotel in
Kingston. The occasion was also used to re-brand the current JATAD,
with a new vision and a new name – the ‘Human Resource
Management Association of Jamaica’ (HRMAJ).
The
Ministry of Transport and Works was awarded for its partnership
with JATAD and Mrs. Barbara Codogan, Senior Director of Human Resource
Management and Administration was on hand to receive the prestigious
award, a silver plaque. Among those representing the Ministry at
the ceremony, were Permanent Secretary, Dr. Alwin Hales, Mrs. Elsa-May
Binns, Senior Director, Policy Planning and Evaluation, Mr. Altius
Williams, Principal Finance Officer, Ms. Annette Osbourne, Director
of Policy, Mrs. Ethnie Moulton, Director of Administration, Ms.
Raquel Forbes, Legal Officer and Mr. Leo McEwan, Public Relations
Officer.

Speaker at the event was Professor Errol Morrison who used to the
opportunity to emphasise the importance of unity at the workplace.
He noted that far more is achieved when all stakeholders involved
in any productive endeavour pool their resources and pull together.
He lauded JATAD for the twenty-five years of sturdy contribution
to the human resource landscape.
