AMBASSADOR CALLS ON MINISTER PICKERSGILL

Newly
appointed German Ambassador to Jamaica Mr. Volker Schlegel paid
a courtesy call on Minister Robert Pickersgill on Tuesday, October
11, 2005.
The
Ambassador who arrived in the island recently, said he was very
pleased to be in the island and was looking forward to a productive
and rewarding tour of duty. He used the opportunity to discuss with
Minister Pickersgill a range of issues covering the Ministry's portfolio
areas of land, sea and air transport as well as infrastructural
developments.
For
his part, Minister Pickersgill expressed delight at having the Ambassador
in the island. He said that he was looking forward to having a close
working relationship with the Ambassador and hoped that he (the
Ambassador) would have an overall positive experience while in the
island.
