NWA INTENSIFIES ROAD IMPROVEMENT WORKS IN KINGSTON

The National Works Agency will be carrying out modification works at the intersection of Knutsford Boulevard and Trafalgar Road, on Saturday, May 8, 2004, beginning at 9:00 a.m. This, to accommodate two lanes of traffic turning left onto Trafalgar Road from Knutsford Boulevard. Currently, only a slip lane provides left turning facility for vehicles entering Trafalgar Road from Knutsford Boulevard. The works are designed to improve the flow of traffic in that area and significantly reduce traffic congestion at the intersection.

In the meantime, similar improvement works will take place at the Intersection of Holborn Road and Trafalgar Road. The median strip will be removed to allow two lanes turning left onto Trafalgar Road from Holborn Road.

NWA's Communication Manager, Vando Palmer, says while the surface of the improved areas will not be paved at the weekend, the National Works Agency will ensure sufficient smoothness of the road surface to allow for comfortable passage.

The National Works Agency is advising the Motoring public to proceed with caution, in the vicinity of the work sites, and to observe the instructions of the flag persons and posted warning signs.
