AMBASSADOR CALLS ON MINISTER PICKERSGILL

Spanish Ambassador to Jamaica Mr. Je`sus Silva

On
Wednesday, September 21, 2005, newly appointed Spanish Ambassador
to Jamaica, Mr. Jesu`s Siva Fern`andez paid a courtesy call on Minister
Robert Pickersgill at his Maxfield Avenue Office.
Minister
Pickersgill and Ambassador Fern`andez used the opportunity to discuss
various matters of mutual interest to both countries. Among these
were Highway 2000, possible collaborations on road projects and
the hotel industry insofar as the construction aspect is concerned.
Prior
to his posting to Jamaica, Mr. Fernandez was the Director General
for Cultural and Scientific Relations in the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs in Madrid, Spain.
The
new Ambassador expressed delight at meeting with Minister Pickersgill
and said that he was looking forward to a ‘fruitful and positive’
stay in Jamaica.
