Housing 
The main function of Housing is to facilitate the provision of affordable housing solutions and security of tenure within the framework of the National Shelter Sector Strategy (1987).  This is achieved through the development and implementation of policies  and legislation relating to the housing sector and the provision of security of tenure through purchase and sale of land for housing development, the handing over of infrastructure to relevant authorities, marketing of housing solutions, compliance of mortgages, Local Improvement Community Amenities Project, issues of the divestment of housing schemes and the maintenance and repairs to Hagley Park Road and government-owned houses and apartments.
