Trafalgar Road Improvement Project Updated: February 2003 The Trafalgar road Improvement Project, which started in November 2000, is now substantially complete. The scheduled completion date was November 2002. The approximately 1.5 kilometre of roadway was executed in two phases: Phase 1: Abbeydale Avenue to Breamar Avenue. Phase 2: Braemar Avenue to Downer Avenue. The contract was awarded to Pavement and Structures Ltd. Scope of Works included: ·The widening of roadways to conduct a four-lane
Carriageway moving in an easterly direction. There were a few delays experienced during the implementation of this project, mainly relating to the laying of sewer mains by the NWC. This is now completed, and the system is functioning properly. The installation of medians was controversial at times but the overall result is a much-improved management of traffic along this busy roadway. Works to be completed: ·Final Paving will soon be undertaken at the corner
of Lady Musgrave Road in the vicinity of Dry-cleaners Spic and Span. Corporate citizens have indicated interests in adopting respective sections of roadway for beautification purposes. Some have already started and will be identifying themselves soon. These companies will be responsible for the general maintenance and beautification along the Trafalgar Road. |
